
Leah is an associate with a broad range of litigation experience, having represented clients in various industries including construction, energy, mining, banking, entertainment and technology. She has acted for corporations across the construction pyramid, generally working with contractors and subcontractors.
Leah is called to the bar in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan. She has experience in several types of disputes, including contract, shareholder, construction, intellectual property, banking and insolvency, estates and trusts, malpractice, fraud and various regulatory investigations and adjudications (expropriation, electricity, lobbying and surface rights).
Some of Leah’s representative work includes:
- Counsel to an EPC contractor involved in a dispute with the owner of a carbon capture plant;
- Counsel to a design-build subcontractor in a dispute with its underground utilities subcontractor for a light rail transit system;
- Counsel to the owner of a sour gas processing plant in northern Canada in a multi-party UNCITRAL arbitration; and
- Counsel to an offshore seismic company in various disputes relating to copyright and offshore oil and gas regulations in Canada and abroad.
Prior to joining Margie Strub, Leah practiced at a large Canadian law firm in the commercial litigation group, while maintaining active construction and estates litigation practices. In her practice, Leah worked with an array of clients in Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and abroad. Through that role, Leah gained extensive experience marshalling the facts and working with experts while involved in hearings in Canada, as well as the Falkland Islands and London.
Leah has written articles on construction law and contributed to annual civil procedure publications.

Light rail line: Acting for a civil joint venture in respect of course-of-project and upstream claims advice, and in respect of numerous subcontractor claims.
Subway line: Preparation of subcontract forms for civil joint venture on a major urban subway project.
